There was a nice 64cm or so Forkless Raleigh (531?) at the local co-op. I thought about asking about it, but I just couldn't justify dragging a frame home that was way too big to ride. Perhaps I could have scrapped it out. Unfortunately it has sold.
You could meld a newer frame with an older fork. Perhaps extending the steer tube on the fork, and come up with a bike with a nice vintage look.
An option would be to strip all the lugs from your Raleigh, and build a new frame from scratch. Perhaps you could track down an old frame that is damaged beyond repair as a donor. You'd end up with a frame that lies between new and old. Sometimes angles change with the taller bikes. Especially the seatstays, but maybe other angles too.
If I was doing a custom vintage style bike, I'd do something unique like a twin top tube bike, but using modern tubing.
