Hmmmm...

Not one to get excited about "the next big thing", but this is actually pretty cool. 12 speed on the rear would let me go with a single ring in front. That would be cool.

Current largest gear = 117 inches
Current smallest gear = 46 inches

With a single front chainring of 48T, we go:
11-12-13-14-15-16-17-19-21-23-25-28

...and have the same gear spread, no overlap and we scrap the front derailleur and shifter. How cool is that?

This from a person who is really down on ten and only just jumped on the nine-speed bandwagon.
