This makes the most sense of all. The rest of your post which I snipped out for the sake of reposting brevity illustrates that entirely. It's not so much the material as *that* particular frame or *that* particular fork.

In this case, where it's specifically a Gunnar/Waterford frame, I think the best combination is going to be with a few specific carbon forks. As for composite forks, Gunnar seems to like some of the Ritchey and Enve forks.
