If you just started riding again, likely you are not used to holding yourself up with your legs and core, and are supporting most of your weight with your hands, which wuill cause pain and numbness. You might need to raise the bars some until your core (stomach and lower back) and legs get used to ridding again. A wider or narrower bar shouldn't have that much affect on your hands.
My bar is already raised to max

on the past years i focused a lot on the bike weight , now i'm revisiting my confort (since the real weight is tooo far away from the paper calculation).
I ordered a new saddle (SMP stratos clone , sadly a clone becouse the cost of the original product is way too high) and the new handlebar.
I'll post an image of myself on the bike , an opinion is always appreciated.
