Other than the notoriety of it due mostly to his online persona and previous health issues, this just doesn't seem all that noteworthy. Those randonneurs who have completed a 600km brevet did so without the support he's getting, certainly without the windbreak of the van!

Basically, if it was anyone else, would this be "noteworthy"?
