Your bike is going to get hammered outside. Chain, cassette, derailleurs, cables, etc are all going to rust. The more basic bike you get, the more steel is going to have on it...more it's going to develop rust. I've seen bikes come in to get try and get "fixed" that are stored on the side of the house. More often than not...the bikes or rusted parts end up as trash.
