Pull of the trail/mountain

Ok, I know this is a road forum...
I converted from mtb to road years ago. I am primarily a runner and have been for longer than I can remember.
I quit mtb due to a move, a marriage and a child. I picked up the road to supplement my running and love it. As my son has gotten older (He is 8) I find myself being pulled back to the mtb more and more as I ride them with him. He is digging the trails but it has rekindled my love of the mtb as well. Now I have three great hobbies to partake in. Running is easy as I do it at 5:30 am every day. Road riding is great as I ride every Sat. morning and whatever day(s) I can after work when my son is at a practice or something.
I truly love all 3 of them and was curious if others have strayed from the road or mtb and gotten back in over time. Riding seems like it just pulls me in once I start doing it with any level of frequency. Have others found this to be the case?
