The first thing I look at is how well the bike fits me and the style in which I ride. Next up would be a nice enough bike to enjoy but not so nice that every tom, dick, and harry wants to steal it if I stop to buy an ice cream cone. The actual colour of a bike does not really matter to me, well no hot pink but every other colour is ok.
