I didn't miss it. There are threads that cost money to manufacture all over a bicycle. They are there because they are necessary. Sometimes threads are added because the functional gain overshadows the cost downside. This is true of Campy's redesigned Fulcrum 5's...they added threaded adjustable hubs...same level wheel as before. New hub design with slightly greater complexity and a better design to maintain preload.
