That's a strange analogy, for two reasons.

One, a Focus and an F1 car are in two completely different genres, whereas an LHT and a loaded tourer from Co-Motion are designed to accomplish basically the same thing.
Two, the functional differences across the entire span of upright road bikes in general is pretty small; there's arguably more actual functional difference between a Focus and an F1 car than there is between a Surly LHT and a Trek Emonda SLR 10.

There's nothing particularly odd or inappropriate about comparing touring bikes that sell at different price points, especially when talking about frame geometry choices rather than differences in groupset/tubeset/whatever tier.
