It's exactly as you see it. No internal reinforcement. On my photo you'll see where the housing goes into the downtube. That entrance has a housing stop. Cable runs bare through the downtube. The downtube seems to be 5 cm squarish. I think that external housing would be a better choice considering. I wonder what their crash tests showed.
I still like the handling, I have ridden whippy frames and wheels before, This was certainly not one. It's rock solid.
