[strike]Here, here[/strike] Hear, hear. Better than Canadain, I went to a parochial school, and my first road bike was a five-speed Schwinn Suburban circa 1970, quickly followed by a Mercier road bike with Reynolds 531 double-butted tubing and sew-up tires.

Got a 1971 Suburban, late in the summer of the same year. Rode it on campus and into life for several years, didn't think of it as a road bike. Mine was green, with stock chainring had been replaced with a 39.
