that kinda what i thought.. thin tube steel is whippy,, but that whippy loose bottom bracket.. absorbs road shock, or noise, vibration, feedback.. that deflection in the stays caused by torque on the bars and force to cranks is a loss of energy, but that same quality allows steel to take road vibration and mute it a bit, or filter it.. carbon filters vibration too... but its just a different feel.. and its all subjective any how.. but i know my steel bike has a whole different ride quality same tires/wheelset then my alum.. and i know that difference is even more pronounced when compaired to my older cannondales.. it may not be as apparent on the road... but you compare a an alum hard tail to a steel and it will be more then clear... comfort has a price.. when i was mountain biking on my alum tomac... i was beat to hell even with a nice rock shock up front.. when i switch to the Rocky Mountain steel hard tail.. it was like a totally different feel.. it was freaking plush... i did not climb near as well.. because the back flexed a bit too much to race up the hill... on the tomac.. it sprinted up with no or almost loss in defelction..
but contine,,, too bad
but this seems trollish now..
