Can't speak to George Mount. You've seen the group shot?

Now that you mention it, there was a guy on a Bianchi that was talking about making his setup exactly as he had when he raced. Could have been from Orange County or somewhere local but the whole weekend was a blur) - the guy on the Bianchi isn't in the group shot.

Ok so it is not the spring - on one of them, the bushing that the spring goes around is firmly attached to the portion that slides on to the braze on (the part with the stop - 4048A) in the diagram - on the other it moves - guess I need to attach it to see if it is just gunk holding them together.
