Two flash lights for example, one on each side. With most lights the mounting bracket is not wide enough to fit around the fork blade. Some do not have enough rotation to make up for the angle of the fork, the light points up.
My bag is mounted fairly high and does not interfere with my headlight that is mounted to the fork crown. Having the light at this location does prevent other bags, racks, etc. from being mounted here, but it is a choice you have to make if you want your light on the fork crown.
