Congratulations on your Miyata series. My daughter's '85 310 seems to have nearly as nice a frame as the '79 912 that I've had since new, and still ride often (60 miles in the last two days) in its upgraded 8-spd Ergo-shift form as my dedicated fender bike.

I'm curious about the seat post diameter on later 912's. What is it on your '86? (Any other 912 owners, feel free to chime in.)

My '79 uses a 26.8mm seatpost, which are impossible to find with lots of setback.
