There is a time and place for a fixie but I wouldn't bastardize a CAAD or any other classic geared road bike. Also wouldn't do flat bar conversion. If it's 9 speed it should be spaced for 10 or 11 so throw some new wheels on and 5800 group or sell the frame to someone who will
