True, huge leap from 2 to 3 in parental effort. Also things like restaurant tables - lots available for 4, not so much for 5+. Cars - pretty much have to have the 3rd row.

We had 4 kids, I get it. Youngest is 22 now, but we still have the minivan - good news is my bike rolls right in the back and between the 2nd row captains chairs. It's 12 years old now so I don't worry so much about the chainrings getting the upholstery dirty - the kids thrashed it long ago.
