How many cogs. You'll have to replace the freewheel, since you won't find a NEW wheel with a Mailliard hub.
What's the DO spacing?
probably 120mm if 5 speed or 126mm if 6 speed.
Measure to be sure.

Another possible option is a 700C wheel.
The rim diameter is 8MM smaller, so the brake pads have to be able to move 4-5mm closer to the axle.
However, it opens you up to a much better tire selection.

I was pressed for time last night ... here are the additional specs:
Drop Out = 126mm (I get a measurement of 5", converted to metric is 127mm, so rounded off for error to 126mm).
Cogs = 6

Regarding 700C wheel:
I suppose that could work although my brake pads do not have travel for another 4-5mm and are already bottomed out. Currently I do not use my rear brake at all, and have had plans to upgrade both brakes to dual pivot side pull Tektros, so maybe a long size rear brake calliper would work (still need to figure out mounting options see thread here of curious: http://www.bikeforums.net/bicycle-me...road-bike.html).

700c are more common these days.

27" for freewheel (despite "cassette" in the description). Not QR
bicycle wheel
