A bus would have to have three or fewer passengers for it not to justify its space on the roadway. It's not bigger than about three cars. Most car trips have only the driver in the car. What could be more wasteful than that?

The gap between car drivers and everyone else is that the car driver is reducing his travel time and increasing his convenience at everyone else's expense. Others have other priorities, such as lower stress, lower cost, and many others.
