I still have one of those two wheel luggage carts that everybody used before they started putting wheels on luggage. But it does weigh a bit. I flew a LOT a few decades ago, used that cart quite often.

My duffel that I often fly with has shoulder straps, can wear it like a backpack. But unfortunately that is of no help to the OP with an S&S case.
