Old school pen & paper planner guy here too - I used to have those large ringbound Franklin Covey planners when I was tied to a desk, but these small and easy to carry Mead planners work well for me.
I started using the Mead planners in the 1980s, not just for work and appointments but also as a training log. Flipping back though them triggers a lot of fond memories of rides, races, etc.
