Great thread; I enjoyed this a lot. I just restored a 1960 olmo gran sport but I put nowhere near this level of work into the build; bravo. I tape from the bottom up as this means that when your hands push down you are less likely to unravel the tape. At least that's what I was taught; interesting that others think the right way to do it is top to bottom. I may end up using shellack on the tape.
