More importantly, if this had mudguards it would be hard to justify having another messy-day commuting bike built up fairly similarly (the Trek 620 commuter w/ mudguards, basket, rack and albatross bars is almost done.)
I justify it by the
need to have at least one bicycle representing each country of origin. That way I get the subtle nuances and differences between each cycling culture. Or something...
