That story definitely sucks and saddens me, too. I think about stories like that everytime I ride, which includes a lot of city street riding. My wife rides with me sometimes too but I'd never let her ride alone, I'd be worried constantly if she did. I've never been hit personally but have had some very close calls, just so many careless, inconsiderate, or inexperienced drivers out there in the mix.
