Bikes: Heavy, with friction shifters

Replacing the whole hub would ask for undoing all the spokes, then lacing the rim for a new hub. Not sure of the quality of your rim, spokes (and the hub). It might be cheaper to get a cheap wheel (LBS near me has cheap decent wheels for about 20 euros), or get a Shimano Deore (or better) hub, DT swiss spokes and a decent quality rim, lace it all and build (or have it done by a LBS) yourself a good quality wheel that will last long time.
