Add to that, "es spécifications sont sujettes à modification sans préavis" Specifications subject to change without notice.

Before the advent of desktop publishing producing catalogs was a time intensive job of true cut and paste with X-acto knives and rubber cement. The expense of photography plus producing printing plates and so on encouraged bike makers to reuse much of their catalog material.

We sold Gitanes in the early 70's. We never knew what components the entry level Gran Sport bikes were equipped with until we open the box! Simplex, Huret or Suntour derailleurs, MAFAC, Weinmann center pulls, side pulls or Symmetric, Dia-Compe center pulls, CLB Racer center pulls or even German made Altenburger Synchron brakes, QR or nutted hubs and so on.

Of all of the European manufacturers, Peugeot bikes were always closest to catalog specs.

There were never any Bike Specification Police....

When I get a bike that's all or near all OEM equipped I'll keep it that way. When I built a bike up from a bare frame it can be anything from period correct to whatever I have on hand, especially if it's going to be a rider.

Frankenbikes forever!
