Unless you are racing, there is literally no point in shaving off weight at an expense that hurts you financially. Absolutely zero. You want to get faster, it will be much easier to train harder...or shave 300 grams from yourself. And if it doesn't hurt you financially, and your goal is to go faster, then just do it and don't question it...Logic states that if you have to question it, money is a factor.

Light-weight components in cycling are like World of Warcraft...To enchant a piece of gear and get 100 extra of a stat might cost 100 gold...Now if you want the really good enchant with 110 extra stats, it's like 5,000 gold...it's just pointless unless you're some professional player (rider).
