Well a reason I ask about the difference is that the S4 is available at my local dealer but the ALR is not.

As a reference I am riding a 11' Fuji Roubaix 2.0 , so I guess that is a slightly more relaxed than than CAAD 12. I have yet to ride a CAAD 12.
