Given Park's position on its warranty (one use can void the warranty), I don't think it's worth paying a premium for their headset cup remover.
Did you square up the tines as FB suggested? This is not a finely tuned, precision tool... Straighten the (apparently) bent tines, square up their tips and hold the tool well centered and straight on when hitting it. There's not much to it, really.
