Maybe I'm spoiled doing all of my long distance riding in the Midwest during summer months. I'd stop by roadside fruit/vegetable stands along the way for whatever was in season, eating my big meal in the evening when I was close to stopping for the night. McDonald's, Burger King, or a local greasy spoon diner for a couple of Burgers, fries, drink and a pie. In the morning, have another apple or whatever left from the day before, and maybe some oatmeal.
