Exactly.! I don't bother with 'catalogue' parts unless they drop into my lap at the right time. I'll use period correct parts, or just stuff that looks 'right'. That's why I don't like the BIG STICKERS that manufacturers stick on everything now.
So long as nothing stands out as 'wrong' for the bike, then I'm happy with it...
