It's really, strictly a racing machine - optimized for that in the extreme, at the expense of comfort. I could not in good conscience recommend it for a first-time road bike buyer. OTOH, if someone was looking for a high performance sprinting bike at a good price to get into racing, it would be ideal for that application.
