If there's any way for you to see it in person, do. Otherwise, pass, or offer a price indicating the great risk you're taking.

I bought a frame a couple of years ago that ended up having almost imperceptible damage to the front end. I was only able to tell by feeling the slight bump in the down tube and top tube. I doubt the seller knew -- you can't always trust their word, even if they are selling in good faith.
