Where did you find the reference to 'hard relatively flat surfaces'? Also, I'd like to see ED visits separated from actual hospitalizations as the 0-14 age group being taken to the hospital says nothing about the severity of the trauma, or indeed if any actually occurred. When you look at the stats for deaths and hospitalizations for kids and young adults, falls aren't the real issue.
