Reducing diameter of a bracket made for frame mounting

This idea could help others who want to mount something elsewhere when a bracket is designed solely for frame mounting. I carried a mini-pitbull in my trunk bag for some time because the included frame mount bracket would place the lock so as to interfere with my double water bottle cages. I wanted to put the lock somewhere on my rear rack and reclaim the space in the bag. Lowes hardware sells various sized nylon spacers; one size looked just right for the job. The interior hole was exactly the size of a round bar I had previously mounted on my rack, while the exterior size was capable to fill the gap in the quick release lock bracket. I could not slip the un-cut spacer over the round bar, so a hacksaw split it in two. I used both spacers included in the package. Strategically placed velcro did the trick of eliminating any rattle.
