And finally: the moderators are volunteers. Commenting in any way on their moderating is just plain rude. Why would you volunteer your time to do *anything* for people if they were to chime in on the way you do it. I'm sorry this forum is actually a private space in which the public just happens to be invited to participate. You can't just do whatever you want, you actually have to behave according to forum guidelines. If you don't like the rules, work behind the scenes to have them changed. If you can't change the rules & that's a deal-breaker for you, then don't participate. Even saying things like I didn't know the rules but I'm surprised the mod shut us down is IMO disrespectful- he did it, period. If it surprises you, it might be nicer to say something more along the lines of Sorry we pushed it to that point, I personally just didn't realize how far we were crossing the line, but I get it now, mea culpa.

The unique thing about Addiction is that our moderator is one of the regulars too. It's just not cool to make him have to police this thread. Newbies get it now. Experienced Addictionites, don't egg the newbies on and make them think this stuff is ok.
