Well part of the answer is nicely just out of view in shot #2 ... But this lever looks to have a cable end fitting, in the lever, with a slotted feature. If enough slack is had the cable head can be pushed out of the seat and then removed through the slot. Try loosening the caliper/center pull's anchor bolt. If the frame has slotted stops you might remove the casing end from a stop to gain slack. You only need part of an inch of slack to slip the cable head out and from the slot. Andy.
