In many of the Tourney product descriptions the 7-speed shifter (with 1-7 in the display window) is advertised as also working with 6-speed applications. So I wonder if there is a specific 6-speed Tourney model...
Thanks for the suggestion of swapping to a 7-speed Hyperglide. Since I already have the 7-speed Tourney, thanks to oddjob's links, maybe this is the way I will go. Hopefully I can find one with a similar range.
Tourney does have a 6 speed shifter also. Unless im reading and seeing everything wrong - You already have Tourney shifters on the bike posted in the photo in the OP. Iv used those tourney shifters and Acera shifters - The Acera shifters are much easier and reliable (IME).
I think the Altus shifters are pretty much the same as the Acera shifters too.
