Steel rims are only acceptable in dry weather. When wet, they brake abysmally.
I like in the Pacific NW where it rains more than 6 mos. a year . I ride these 40+ year old Rigidas practically every day.
The checks & grooves help carry water away from the rims. They are still dead true & show no signs of wear. At a 75
cadence in high gear with Schwalbe marathons at 95 psi they generate more than 350 watts of kinetic energy. I love
