Water for rides 30 miles and under. Powerade for over 30 miles, I add ice to the bottle to help delute the sweet.
I usually ride 50 miles on my long ride if I ride longer than that and run out, I'll stop at a fast food and get a sweet tea, making sure I fill my bottle with ice to lessen the sweet taste and fill the other with ice and water.
In the summer I usually fill my water bottles with water and stick em in the freezer for the ride the next day. By the time I start drinking the first bottle its just cold water, the last bottle will just be water.
