Congrats! Biggest suggestion is not to give up. Keep at it. Pretty soon you'll be able to ride the whole way.

I've lived on top of a huge hill for over three years now. I keep thinking that some day that hill will become easy. It doesn't, but I haven't had to walk it in a long, long time. The old adage in cycling is that, "It never gets easier, you just get faster."
