Thanks Jim for the link to that thread. It doesn't make sense to me that just about ALL of the replies in the tread where saying that this area ( not ONLY DC but VA and MD too) IS and should be considered the Mid Atlantic by the people that not only live but also grew-up here.

One MAJOR point is that Washington D.C. is considered a very "transient" area and for those who don't understand it mean the majority of people who LIVE in DC move there from other places WORLDWIDE! I read a reply in that thread from a person that ha live in the area for 4 years. UM...I've been in Northern Va. (about 30 miles outside of DC) for 50 yrs.

So Tom, you OBVIOUSLY have enough to deal with and I suggest it simply is not that big a deal where you put the District or Maryland or Virginia together referred to by "the kids" as the DMV
