This has worked the best for me as well. I also have an old Garmin 800 that I use on the bike, but I don't sync it to Garmin Connect, just use it for the easy to read display. I track all my activities with my Fenix 3HR, and just carry the phone in case of emergencies. I've been fortunate with my LG V10 so far though, its been rock-solid with BT connections.
