SRM is probably the most reliable brand currently, but it's also very expensive and you can definitely find drop-out stories. Currently I have two pioneers and one of them has been absolutely problem free since I got it. The other one was repaired and seems to be working fine since then. I will probably add the new Shimano PM to the mix later this year and see how that turns out.
Do you use the dual magnets with your Pioneer?

The SRM also causing problems is one of my fears. At this point before I buy anything else I'm going to wait until Pioneer sends back the one I sent them - if they send me back the new version then I'll probably try it and then if I have problems again, move to something else. Or I may decide to just sell it and use the money offset the cost of the SRM.
