These bikes give you lots of options for racks, panniers, fenders, good brakes, etc...

LOVE the look of that Weekender. And I've been thinking about trying to track down a used Surly Cross Check or LHT. I know they've got great reputations (and I can see you've got one yourself). Definitely pricier than what I was after, but if they'll last and last it's probably worth it.
