Fort Worth has a similar
bit of sculpture that baffles some viewers. It's four twisted steel beams in front of the post office in the museum and cultural district (that big starfish intersection of Camp Bowie, University and 7th).
It looks like deliberate abstract sculpture, and was reshaped a bit to improve the aesthetics. But it began as supports for a large billboard that was twisted out of shape by a tornado that ripped through the area in 2000.
