Much the same with me and i also bought the CroMoly version.

I'm hoping to alleviate some of the wrist pain i get with my trekking bars particularly with the swept-back grips and using the bullhorns.

Again, like you, my bike is a 'do-it-all' for me and is mostly used for commuting to work. However, i will be taking it on a couple short camping tours this summer and am looking forward to exploring how well my chosen "add-on's" work in that role.
