You're not really comparing comparable shoes. $120 running shoes is in the very good range. $90 road shoes are lower end (not saying they suck). A high end pair of road cycling shoes can be $400 or more. They'll still last you longer than your running shoes, but that's just the way they are used. Shoes in running are like tires for cycling...where the rubber meets the road, so to speak. Do that comparison, and it's probably closer, depending on how cheap your tires are.
