For some reason that had never occurred to me. It's not like I didn't know about the existence liners... I think I'll give that a shot. The Gatorskins never felt all that good to ride on, anyway, so even if liners make tires with better grip feel equally as dead I still haven't lost anything.

I'll move the Gatorskins to the bike I intend to use as a commuter if I can ever be bothered to get a rack and some panniers to put on it. They'll work for that, I think.
